This is terrible. City Paper has filled a void in Nashville long after the thrill was gone from The Tennessean. The economy has brought many a traditional newspaper to its knees. Hopefully, the innovative approach of City Paper will overcome.

All you here from local business owners is, I hate Gannett. Then you open the paper and those same local business owners are supporting the mainstream media instead of the local media. Local business owners want the community to do business with them over the Wal-Marts of the world. Well, I say "Be the change you want to see in others." Break the chain, support your local business owners AND Media!

The layoffs last week at Southcomm were Michael Burgen, managing editor of Business Tennessee magazine and Matt Wilson, sports editor of The City Paper. One of the writers at Nashville Post is also on a furlough program now.
One of our neighbors works there. She said there was a 5 percent pay cut across the board at Southcomm.
So, it seems the entire Southcomm bubble is in danger of bursting.
