Would you pay money to hear this man tell a joke?

International Man of Leisure Adam Dread is back. Ex-disc jockey, councilman, and crowd fluffer for Prime Time Country, Dread is the sort of shameless self-promoter who never really leaves the public stage, if only because no amount of Apollo Theater broom-wielding executioners could sweep him off of it.

And Dread's latest incarnation finds him returning to his roots, before he became known for defending titty bars, drunk drivers and corporal punishment...

Next Thursday through Saturday, Dread will be opening for Steve "Mudflap" McGraw, a Denver drive-time radio host and comedian who's headlining at Zanies.

Dread promises a whole new batch of material culled largely from his experience as a new husband and father and his time on council (that means you're almost guaranteed a Ronnie Steine joke).

So what say you, Pithsters? Last time Dread's name graced these walls he was burned in effigy. Does that mean you won't drop a two-drink minimum to hear him crack wise about your elected officials?
