Isn't it time to just do away with cheerleaders? I mean, has anyone ever been overwhelmed with ennui at at Titans game, only to suddenly recover and feel good about everything because some trollop in an absurd costume started prancing around like a spasmodic in a bad paula abdul video? They are there because Americans like sex with their violence, I get it. Maybe we need to evolve.

They have obviously had years of dance experience and college degrees. I believe you owe them a huge apology. So what if they are beautiful and are in shape. What is so wrong with that? Anyone that has played any type of sport knows that spandex is just part of the attire. You have a lot of anger built up in you to write such a one-sided, bitter, and just plain jealousy-ridden article. I am sorry you got cut from the squad in jr. high or the quarterback dropped you for the cheerleading captain-get over it!!!! If you got paid whatsoever to write this sad excuse for an article, I hope you use the money to see a great shrink. He could rid you years of anger and resentment. You just made yourself and your magazine look bad!!!!

Way to show all of Nashville and Tennessee that you have no support for our local team or the cheerleaders or the community! Who hired this fat bitter wrtier to write for them anyway? She is portraying herself and the Nashville Scene as unsupportive. Someone needs to give Nashville an apology for SLANDERING OUR own TITANS team!

She spent at least 20 hours with the Titans cheerleaders and simply wrote what she saw. I can understand now why some people are upset--portraits don't always look as attractive when we see them up close--, but I'm still waiting to see what Elizabeth got wrong.
Besides, if you want to be taken seriously, maybe you shouldn't take part in wheel barrow races in a bra and panties.

I read the article and am aware that she spent several hours with them and drank the entire time as she mentioned her bar tab in the article. She obviously wrote the entire time she sat there and drank by the length of the article. I guess portraits are never attractive when written by a chubby, drunk reporter with a chip on her shoulder. The races were warm-up exercises to relax their nerves during a long tryout. Obviously neither of you have been to a sports clinic/camp either have you? Once again, spandex is not bra and panties. Did you watch the olympics. Did you see all the spandex? Did that offend you too? Give me a break!!!!

What were you expecting when you showed up at the tryouts, chubby, pale girls with no make up on wearing business suits. This is entertainment! These girls are trying to perform in front of 70,000 people and you have to have a certain look to do that. Sorry Elizabeth, your not about to win a Pulitzer for exposing that to the public. Maybe if you had put down the beers and actually done some journalistic work you would have learned more about the actual girls themselves.
It is obvious Elizabeth went into this assignment with the intent to humiliate the Titans cheerleaders, but in my opinion she just made herself look petty. This was not a close up look at the Titans Cheerleaders, it was a broad, biased picture painted by a woman who would probably like to see the NFL get rid of cheerleaders all together. All I see is a bitter, jealous writer who wrote a column that just reiterates a long standing stereo type about cheerleaders in general. Any college freshman could written the same thing without even attending the tryouts!
