Kurita Gets Away With It
Thoughts on the state legislative elections:
Democrats played the patsies again by letting Barnes lose to Kurita. It was a squandered opportunity to strike a blow for party discipline. They talked tough about making Kurita pay for voting for Ramsey for Senate speaker. But then, wimping out as usual, they didn't give Barnes enough money and told him to go stand on a street corner with a sandwich board. As it was, even with his ridiculously underfunded campaign, he lost by only 19 votes.
Republicans gave us all hope for a better tomorrow by throwing out the nutcase Finney and defeating the challenge to Kent Williams, who still has a certain grasp of reality. But then they reelected the buffoon Stacey Campfield and killed all the newspaper stories that were about to be written about the GOP's shocking return to sanity.
Stewart's victory over Stansell proves once more the terrifying influence of Pith in the Wind.
