You're kidding, right? Why does it make a difference WHO the guest speaker is? It's a rally to raise money for Rocketown- shouldn't they be able to choose a guest without getting flack for it? Heaven forbid they choose someone with conservative Christian values.

There's a certain condescension in that statement, not to mention a healthy dose of anthropomorphic audacity. The fact that you actually believe an omnipotent intelligent force had the power to create the entire universe but also gives a flying fuck about what a bunch of monkeys are doing on a speck of dust somewhere really kind of betrays your credibility.

Jen, my child, I don't recall bestowing you with the power to decide who is a Christian and who isn't, so you'd be well advised to knock it off. At this point, I'm having my doubts about you.

Wow. You guys are really pathetic. Are your lives that bad that you have to resort to such hatefulness? Jack and I were having a bit of a debate- be it sometimes a little tongue-in-cheek. You come off like a couple of 8 year olds trying out "bad words". I've enjoyed the discussion, but now I just feel sorry for you.

I am quite satisfied with my life and I don't consider myself pathetic because I enjoy using 4-letter words. And it wasn't a disscussion, Jen, although you haven't managed to disappoint in the condescension department.

I still find it ironic (but less than pathetic because that's a mean thing to call somebody) that you would give yourself the authority to say who is a Christian and who isn't. Because that's exactly what you've unapologetically done above. You cant deny that.

I kind of resented when WDH called you a bitch. I even spoke up against it. Hardly the actions of an 8 year old trying out new words. I don't think you are a bitch. I think you are representative of a narrow minded group of people who are trying to spoil the party for the rest of us. But the tide is turning, and rational thinkers all over the country are beginning to show their colors, even in TN!

I don't know how that whole debacle down in Wilson County ended up, but I'm proud of people who are willing to stand up against the fairy tale that is modern religion.

And Jen, if you're going to use the bible as your defense, you should probably check out the Old Testament. It's a nasty, squalid little document full all sorts of injustices that make using a few bad words on a blog look absolutely saintly.

Finally, if you are indeed going to pray for me (which I highly doubt) then do it in private. Don't even tell anyone you're doing it, because praying/ meditation/ whatever is between you and your god. It's no one elses business but yours.

Hey Jen, since you are a Christian, I had a few questions for you.

1) Worship is vanity, and vanity is certainly human, so how can "your" all knowing all loving God want anyone to worship him/her/it? Sounds pretty human to me, not real God like. It would seem like God would love everyone, no matter what they look like, who they sleep with, and what religion they follow. But the Bible, A BOOK WRITTEN BY MEN, says the opposite. All knowing and all loving God, unless you are gay or from the wrong country, right?

2) What would God do about the state of our country and world? Would he invade Iraq? Would he lie to the American people, to the world in fact? Would he make money off of oil from blind trust funds while the American People suffer from high oil prices? Would he work for Halliburton? Would he let people like Hannity continue hate speech and lies generated by war criminals? From what I understand about Christianity, probably not, but the guy you put in the White House has done all those things and more, all in the name of God and America.

3) Do you think the religious conservative Americans that put Bush in the White House feel guilt for all the death and destruction that has been caused in the name of God and country? If not, they should, because that blood is on their hands.

Take heart Jen, you aren't alone. There are lots of people with blinders on who refuse to see the world and our current government for what it truly is. You go on and keep believing what you're told, life is easier that way.
