City's Liberals Wake Up
We're in trouble now. After maintaining a conspicuous silence as Nashville cracked down on downtown panhandlers and dialed back racial progress in a return to segregated schools, the city's liberals seem to have found their voice.
A parade of progressives spoke out a couple of weeks ago against the second downtown that land speculator Jack May wants to build at Bells Bend. And last night, the liberals struck again, pushing a resolution through the Metro Council asking voters to reject Eric Crafton's English Only charter amendment. Even "Can't Comment" Karl Dean had something to say.
We know we've criticized the liberals for refusing to speak out in the past. But now Pith is a little worried that we might have created a monster. What's next? Organic turnips on every table?
