This Crazy Love of Mine
We just got the press release: Conservative talk show host Steve Gill will be joining forced with lefty pundits Mary Mancini and Freddie O'Connell to launch a Saturday morning radio show on WRVU-91.1 FM. The trio will also guest host a weekly spring seminar, beginning with the lecture, “Politics and Pop Music: Country Versus Yacht Rock—Right Hooks, Left Smooth," with special guests Vince Gill and Steve Porcaro of Toto.
And it was only after writing that for Pith did I realize, dear reader, that I'd been had. I called Mary Mancini and asked if this was some sort of April Fool's Joke—in fairness, the press release was dated March 31—and she fessed up. It was a great release, though, which included these gems:
"I'm looking forward to going mano-a-womano with Steve," said Liberadio(!) co-host, Mary Mancini, "and to have Freddie there with his special commentary and smelling salts.""We see that the country is moving away from hyper-partisanship and towards reason and reconciliation and, frankly, it's painful," added O'Connell, "We're going to keep intolerance alive if it kills us."
Said Gill, "Should be fun. I hear O'Connell's a bleeder."
Call it poetic justice. I'm the one that had y'all convinced that Jeff Woods was joining forces with Bill Fletcher.

"...will be joining forced with lefty pundits..."
I assume the lack of editing prior to posting this gag is part of the joke.
