The overprivileged neighbors of the governor's mansion are looking for a little public sympathy in their fight to stop the first lady from digging a big hole in her front yard. As this week's Scene details, Andrea Conte wants to build an underground party room for state receptions and meetings. Her neighbors are worried about noise, dust and excess traffic on Curtiswood Lane.
One thing our story didn't point out is that the residents are asking the first lady to build her party room somewhere else. They've suggested the 65-acre Glen Leven Estate as the location. That's now owned by the Land Trust for Tennessee.
