Tuesday Antidote: Wax Fang Ardent Sessions
As you may or may not know, Louisville sluggers and Nashville-loved Wax Fang will be playing here Jan. 30 at Exit/In with the Non-Coms and How I Became the Bomb. Though I haven't seen them since March of last year when they played the Side Bar at SXSW, I'm still sticking with my last assessment that this band is not capable of a bad show. Their outsize brand of epic rock flourish is so hypnotic that I couldn't tell you if they were fucking up left and right. Tricky bastards.
If you feel like I do, here's a dose of the Fang to keep you occupied for the next 11 days: Famed Memphis studio Ardent has released the Wax Fang sessions, featuring roughly 45 minutes of pristine Fang. These are songs off La La Land, released in 2007, and a track off the 2006 EP before it, but according to the studio, the sessions were recorded about a year ago.
