Am I the only one who hadn't heard anything about this yet? Nowhere Boy is a forthcoming biopic on John Lennon to be released in the States "at the end of 2009." It focuses primarily on The Quarrymen days--Lennon's family issues, his relationship with McCartney and their various skiffle projects before The Beatles. It debuted Oct. 29 at the London Film Festival to relatively strong reviews. More often than not, I find myself disappointed with musicians' biopics, but this one's focus on the early days and lack of overzealous ambition might just make it bearable, if not enlightening. Fingers crossed.
