Queen of Rockabilly and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Wanda Jackson is about to get the Loretta Lynn treatment, as it has been announced that Jack White will apply his Midas touch to her forthcoming LP. According to this post on TwentyFourBit, White is slated to assume production duties on both a digital single and a full-length LP.

Considering this recent post via Rolling Stone, in which mega-douche Lenny Kravitz pines to work with White, I extend a hearty congratulations to Jackson for beating my least favorite retro-rocker to White's dance card. Kravitz's morale is hopefully shattered beyond that of Slash--who is still icing the bruised ego he received when White snubbed him by declining an invitation to sing on his (still-in-production) all-star album. Perhaps White is too busy negotiating with The Rolling Stones, but luckily not too busy to say no to Wanda Jackson, whose graciousness you might remember from this interview I did with her earlier this year.
