Fire Sale: Tickets to See Creed at Sommet Center Dropped to $7.79
Recently, on this post I did announcing the upcoming R.E.O. Speedwagon/Styx/Night Ranger show at the Sommet Center, an anonymous Cream commenter claimed, "...nothing goes onsale at the Sommet for cheaper than $37." Well Anon, get ready to eat some words--I just noticed on Ticketmaster's site that tickets for the Oct. 14 Creed show at our downtown enormodome have been reduced to the low, low price of $7.79. ![]()
Not quite taking Nashville by storm.
A beer at the Sommet Center is $9, so you do the math.
Considering it's Creed, that's still a hefty price to pay for what's sure to be a traumatic experience, but I was still rather shocked to see that such is the case. I was even more surprised to see that this was the asking price for tickets in section 105 which--going by this seating chart--is pretty fucking close to the stage. ![]()
Sec. 105 = close
So, either this is the worst-selling concert of all time or Creed just simply wants to give something back to whoever is still willing to endure them in 2009. Check out this video of the band's stage production. There's all kinds of fire and shit. That's GOT to be expensive, so either the show's promoters are about to take a huge bath on this one and decided to fire sale the shit out of whatever tickets they could, or they're donating the proceeds from these bargain tix to charity and writing it off against their loses. That would be smart, right?
Interestingly, no press announcement has been released to people like me, so I guess the band wanted to save face. Hell, I'm thinking of snatching up a pair and going down there just to test my resolve. Staind are opening, but I guess that isn't much of a selling point either. Get your $7.79 Creed tickets here. Keep in mind that with "facility" and "convience" charges the tickets actually come out to $14.66. So the service charges are running neck and neck with the actual ticket price. When are Pearl Jam gonna weigh in?
