Hard to believe it's Thursday night already.
Elle Macho kick off their three-week tour of, uh, Nashville at 12th & Porter. They'll be Elle Mod-cho tonight as they go-go with Britt Savage and Twang Deluxe, Million Sellers & Music City Burlesque. This show allegedly starts at 8 p.m. More info at nashvillemodnight.com. I suppose this raises the eternal question of how many times is too many when playing your home town. Five shows in three weeks is a lot to ask of your fans/frenemies/drinking pals, but sometimes playing out is about sharpening your game more than anything. Or getting a lot of footage of your band. But sometimes it's not.
Incidentally, David Mead looks sort of like a cross between Eraserhead and Morissey in this photo. Which I suppose means he looks like David Lynch.
Also tonight, Dave Cloud's newest project, Cavalcade of Cock, will dry hump your mind and perhaps not stop there. The Cloud cult congregates at Springwater. Also also tonight, Marj and Gnarwhal at The End, the Holly House Revue at The Basement and the reefer madmen themselves, Cheech y Chong, at The Ryman. What's it going to be?
