Pull out a Twenty and We'll Rock Your Party: Jesco the Dancin' Outlaw Hits The Ryman

"If you wanna live to see tomorrow, you better start fryin' 'em eggs a little better'n what'chu been fryin' 'em. I'm tired of eatin' sloppy, slimy eggs!"

Yep, rumor has it that the rumor is true: The legendary Jesco White will be appearing at The Ryman on Wednesday night, opening for The Black Keys. If you're unfamiliar with The Dancng Outlaw, then you need to hang your head in shame and probably consider moving back to whatever coastal commie enclave you came from.

After the jump more YouTube videos of a copy of a copy of something somebody taped off of TV.

Can't wait. And if Billy Bob Thornton doesn't play Jesco in the studio film about his life, then there is no justice in this world.

1995 I got a copy of Dancin Outlaw, added about another
20 minutes of fun stuff at the end wrapping up with Tommy
Womack reciting crazy bit about Necrophilia. Made about
15 copies and gave them out as Christmas presents.
Also, hung out with Jacob Young when he set up camp
here back in late 90's and he dubbed me about 5 of
his other Different Drummer documentaries. I will be there
Tuesday.

Has anyone seen the bonus footage from Dancing Outaw? Some of it's pretty brilliant, specifically Jesco tellin' about how he first met Norma Jean and the fateful night he drove a car into a river and his buddy lost his "operator's"

Dancing Outlaw II: Jesco goes to Hollywood is pretty weak due to the numerous somewhat scripted shots involved. However it's certainly worth watching. It's no original, though.

So which one of you Scene staffers or Grimey's employees is making me your plus one for this show? I'd be leaving after Jesco and maybe a little of the Royal Bangs. No interest in seeing a couple honkies from Rubber City play the blues.

I hope Jesse tells stories and dances and doesn't try to play music..pleeeese

Joe, I agree - the story of how they met has to be the funniest one - "I set off to rob her, and I found love.."

I agree that I don't want to see a couple of Rubber City Honkeys trying to play the blues. Likewise, it would be a shame to see a couple of Dumb Colored People trying to play some violin. Whitey needs to recognize his place in the orchestra pit abd Darkey needs to stay on the porch in his overalls moaning the blues. Fine outlook Joe Baine!

Good to hear Jesco White is going to make it out of the house. He is a fine dancer and I hope he gets to put on a good show tomorrow.

Bravo to you fellow Americans for attending this publicity stunt of a truly sad addicted man who needs a good (real) job more than he needs your not-so-ironic cheers and beer money. You could have instead been a part of history last night and, I dunno, PAID ATTENTION TO THE DEBATES OF OUR NEXT PRESIDENT THAT WAS RIGHT DOWN THE STREET IN NASHVILLE? No wonder Tennessee gets such a bad rap and remains RED. Hope you enjoy your ice cold irony more than you enjoy an economy next year.

That's what ends up me a hittin ya!

real issues,
You are on the wrong blog. Pith in the Wind is to your left. It is very unamerican to hate on Jesco. He is an American hero. BTW, since Tennessee is a red state, doesn't that make your vote for Obama kinda pointless? Maybe you should move to California. That way you don't have to be in a Jesco lovin, whiskey drinking, red state.

We're wild and crazy and can't be stopped!!
