So we all know Berman and company are a bit tricky when it comes to touring. But with the release of Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea, it seemed inevitable that they would play a handful of dates. Looks like we're getting lucky.

The Silver Jews are embarking on a six-week national tour that includes four Midwest dates with The Mattoid and four others with Cortney Tidwell. The final stop on the Jews’ tour is right here (Oct. 12) in Nashville with Monotonix, who are known to put on quite an incendiary (literally) show.

Yes, but with the addition of Cortney Tidwell and The Mattoid as well as the fact that the tour's about to start, it certainly seemed re-bloggable.

Super stoked Cortney and Mattoid are getting some opening dates! FYI, Mattoid plays an instore at the Groove in five points 6pm this Saturday. Free beer, cd give aways, free love. That night, Mattoid and company share a bill with friends, Dave Cloud and the Gospel of Power, and friends Ham 1 from Athens, Ga, featuring members of Vic Chestnutt's touring band, Olivia Tremor Control, and Elf Power! Two of their really great albums are up for download for FREE! Checkout www.ham1.org As far as I know there's absolutely NOTHING going on that night! ;)

I'll give you that, Cream Writer.

Just Curious said:

Is the Mattoid actually retarded or does he just look/sing/and write songs that way to be funny?

lulu said:

He is not retarded. He is foreign. Not the same thing.
Vila is a great guy.

no shit said:

Oh yeah,I knew he was foreign,I guess his music is just supposed to be fucking stupid then.

I love this album, and I really hope I catch that show in October.

Also, Curious (no shit... whatever), there is no need to clarify that you're an anonymous jerk. We get it.

Hackenope said:

No need to call people names here big fella, just because they don't like the same shit you do you indy rocker fucking nazi.

lulu said:

was it suppose to be funny to tell someone not to call names but finish your sentence by calling that person a name? Or did you just happen to make an ass of yourself?
Either way, I am voting for you making an ass of yourself because it's not funny. :)

it was pretty funny!!!

familiar sideman said:

the mattoid's music is the most serious music ever. anyone that's heard 'party time'(stress in our culture, sexual politics, constipation), 'tinkly vinkli' (drug addiction amongst endangered species) or certainly his musings on consumer society, 'we are the cocksuckers' knows that this is pretty high brow stuff.

It's funny for about five seconds and then you realize the Mattoid is actually retarded and you start feeling sorry for him.

Too funny. Weird Al should spoof He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother with that.

Why the fuck would they want the Mattoid to open for them at all?
