So here they are—the 23 tour dates that The Drive-By Truckers and The Hold Steady will be co-headlining. And there's also info on how to nab those sweet, sweet tickets. They're calling it the "Rock and Roll Means Well Tour" after a line in the Mike Cooley song "Marry Me." (That's so awesome.)

***Update: Tickets will officially go on sale Friday, Sept. 29 at 10 am. But, they are available now—and will continue to be—through the above website.

Tell em Jeremy, all three of these bands fucking suck!!Bare jr. your dad called and he's tired of you using his name cause you suck!

has bobby bare jr not received the memo that WE'RE SICK OF HIS LAME SONGS. This show needs no opener.

is it going to be bobby bare jr. or his fucking retarded pixies cover band?how fuckin out of touch and lame do you have to be to start a fuckin pixies cover band.what a no talent asssucker!

david said:

I saw Bare Jr. open for Son Volt at the Exit/In a few months ago and, never having heard his music before, thought it was pretty cool. Very original. He'll be a good opener for these bands, who I'd love to see at the Mercy but they're just not a good fit for the Ryman. Gimme a sweaty rock club.

Dan said:

I think bobby is great. I think the pixies are great. How out of touch can you be to not love the pixies. The songs are timeless and the pixies dont tour.and they fucking rock. A room full of people at 5 points disagree with you. Along with millions of pixies fans. Would you prefer a vampire weekend cover band. Also why beat up on Bbj. He has one of the best catalogs in Nashville and has been a helpful part of the Nashville music scene for a long time.

Bobby is great and his shows (and songs) are fantastic. Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion but really, just posting random nasty comments that have no relevance is ridiculous. Sounds like someone has a personal agenda instead of a worthwhile critique of his music. I am excited to see BBJ open this show.

Marci said:

Apparently, I didn't get the memo that we were sick of Bobby's songs either. There is no Nashville artist that I enjoy seeing more, and I couldn't be more excited that he'll be opening for DBT.

you should check again because you must've overlooked that memo.

I hate to interrupt the discussion on how Bobby Bare jr. sucks (he does not). But does anyone know what the ticket situation is for this show? I missed the presale. Is frontgate ticketing the only place to get tickets?

birtha sue said:

Yeah you guys are totally wrong.Bobby Bare does not suck.I'm in my late forties and drunk before noon everyday and I love the guy.Especially when he does that quiet riot cover about how he's got a funny face but it makes him money, thats just so true about bobby.Nobody can rock a bar full of career alcoholics quite like Bobby.

Lee said:

Tickets go onsale Friday. I would go through the Ryman's website.

haha said:

i mean, doesn't that say something if you have to be "a career alcoholic" to enjoy bbj's tunes?

Dan's a fucking idiot said:

"a room full of people at five points disagree with you"...Gee Dan,if a room full of people at five points disagree then there must be something wrong with everyone else in the world.

"Also why beat up on Bbj. He has one of the best catalogs in Nashville and has been a helpful part of the Nashville music scene for a long time."Don't crackheads have more urgent things to do then post on this blog?
