The red-hot centerfold in this week's print edition of the Scene—no, it's not Kellie Pickler—is the Best of Nashville 2008 Reader's Poll ballot.

There is no main music category, so you'll find those choices distributed throughout: Best New Bar or Club, Best Local Band, Best Open Mic and Best Singer-Songwriter are all under Arts and Entertainment; Best Place to Buy Vinyl and Best Place to Buy New Music Instrument are under Goods and Services; Best Local Music Writer, Best Rock Radio Station and Best Local Blog (wink, wink) are under Media. You get the idea.

So get your fingers all inky and fill that sucker out. Of course, the ballot is also online. Voting ends Sept. 10. Results will be published in the Oct. 16 issue. Don't let Randy Whatsit and the Fuckin' Whoevers make a joke of democracy.

I don't know where else to put this but ya'll should know: Borders is selling all CD's at 25% off right now because they're getting reamed by itunes/amazon/etc. I walked in there yesterday and left with a couple of discs of CD audio quality with liner notes at the same price I would have paid Apple for MP3 downloads. Their inventory isn't what it used to be, but you might find some shiznit.
