Newness

Boys and girls, you may have noticed that this here blog has a new look. It's also true that the main Scene website has been resurfaced, so check it out, and give the new music section a go while you're at it. Or just click on a day like, say, this Friday, and check out the new music listings.

Is anybody else finding the new look to be incredibly slow to load?

This new "look" rivals the Tennessean for clutter and overkill.

And where is the Critics Picks??

I really, really do not want to have to click on every day of the "events" calendar and have to wade through 111 events to peruse, nor do I want to have to load the type of event to see the select few capsule comments that float to the top. I see how you do it and it is craptastic. From now on and forever, you can be assured that I will never ever know what is going on in any other type of event except for music.

Your (their) loss.

Not a fan. The subject lines are too small and hard to read. And generally the site looks just... well, ugly.

Subject lines?

Darrin said:

Subject line, topic, headline, title... whatever you want to call them, it's too small.

It is horrible - mostly for the reasons Yazoo points out, but because it is ugly too. The old site was working fine for me. Were you getting so many complaints that you had to change it??

the whole comments on the left, hyperlinks in the middle and ads on the right is kind of annoyingly segmented. it seems like there's a lot of unused space.

Yazoo: If you go to "Calendar Home" under the "Calendar" tab, you can see the featured events for the week. It's not exactly the same as the old Critics' Picks link, but it's essentially the same information.

everybody will eventually get used to it, i'm sure. i always hate change, and then i get used to it, and forget how it was before. i'm a lemming, basically.
