Music City Japan: Cowboys and Samurai

Posted July 25, 2008 at 08:12:44 AM by Steve Haruch

If you've ever seen Yojimbo and High Noon (the original City on Fire/Reservoir Dogs), you already know that samurai are cowboys and cowboys are samurai. I'd never really thought about it in a musical sense, though.

I have to admit I'm kind of a sucker for these kinds of contests where one lucky contestant wins a trip to some far-off land. In this case, the far-off land is Nashville, and the contestants are honky-tonkers in Kyoto, Japan.

Go ahead and watch parts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 as well. Anyone have any idea where this originally aired?
