Mercy Lounge Closed for Renovations Till July 21
You might have noticed there was no 8 off 8th last night, and that's because Mercy Lounge has been closed lately. Their website says it's for renovations, but we wanted to find out exactly what renovations might be going down at Nashville's best club to get drunk at on a Monday night.
"People kick holes in the bathroom walls and tear shit up," explained booker John Bruton. Tsk tsk, drunk people.
They're also redoing floors, and that parking lot that fills up too quickly has also been repaved. And, in case you were wondering, the renovations have nothing to do with the sprinkler ordinance, as Mercy Lounge had the sprinklers installed when they opened in 2003.
So what should you do instead of attending 8 off 8th next week? "Go to the Basement," Bruton says. "I've been telling people to just keep it on Eighth."
Cannery shows will still be held, including Lucero on the 11th, Panty Raid on the 12th, and the Ten out of Tenn release on the 19th. 8 off 8th returns the 21st.
