Kings of Leon Offer New Track for Download

Do you like the Kings of Leon? Sure, we all do. Been wondering about their newest record, Only By the Night? You know it's been keeping me up like crazy. It's out on RCA at the end of September, but you can check out new track "The Crawl" now. It's not the single, but they're going ahead and putting this one out there. So, I guess in major-label-industry thinking that must mean it's the non-total-piece-of-shit-track but not mere album filler material that will make you still like the band and entice you to kind of want to hear more, knowing there's a mother-lode track coming soon that will effectively launch your balls into hyperspace. Or at least, that's my interpretation.
Go here to download "The Crawl" for your very own by inputting your email and zip code. The site supposedly sends you a link to then download it, but that never came for me, which means it went to spam.
So alternately, search the music blogs for people who've already uploaded it. Look, here's one. I don't know what the rest of the record is supposed to sound like, but you'll notice immediately that this track is big, boomy and spacious—I believe these boys are aimin' for an arena.

Boy, it didn't take them long to get super douche-baggy haircuts!
Posted 07/28/2008 at 02:10:37 PMDon't like them.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 03:04:58 PMI hope Angelo wrote 'em some good ones! Nothing's worse for an actor than a crappy script.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 03:21:06 PMWhat a bunch of posers.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 03:28:15 PMyou guys suck. all of you. if you dont have something nice to say then shut up.
bitter assholes!!
YOU are posers. all of you who badmouth everybody else are sitting at home , resting on your laurels , with your rock band video game wishing you could have some sort of luck/success with your music.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 03:51:37 PMgo practice or something
No, this band is not a very original/good/entertaining band in my opinion. I find the entertainment value of their product to be less than appealing. There is no bitterness intended.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 04:02:51 PMNo need to throw a tantrum "Sick of the crap". (clearly a Followill). Why are you even on this blog? Shouldn't you be out at a bar saying shit like, "I could have any chick in this place! Pick one, I'll show you. I don't have to do anything. I just have to walk up to them and they'll fuck me!". Or the old standards like, "Let's get more blow!"
Posted 07/28/2008 at 04:07:46 PMI'm not bitter, if I were bitter I'd say something like, "FUCK THE KINGS OF LEONS WITH A BIG RUBBER DICK!"
Posted 07/28/2008 at 04:34:31 PMclearly chris, you cannot get laid.
not throwing a tantrum, just stating the obvious
Posted 07/28/2008 at 04:37:57 PMthese comments, which happen anytime there's a mention of the Followills and what they are/are not doing, are very tired.
moving right along.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 04:47:16 PMi think they're dreamy.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 04:53:26 PMand you all wonder why some of our most successful bands, don't really get involved in our "scene"... maybe it's b/c they are one of the few artists that have brought some notoriety to this city outside of country music and you all have to go piss on it with your elitist bullshit. are you guys upset that they didn't play springwater enough before they started selling records? i really don't understand where the negativity comes from.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 05:28:32 PMThey are not a band. They are a bunch of male models that Angelo trained to play "rawk and roll". BTW Kev , what is your definition of success? Money? Blow? Bitches? Typical.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 07:00:43 PMI really like music, and a majority of KOL songs and that's that. I should probably stop visiting this website.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 08:17:21 PMby "success" i mean successful in the music business. sold lots of records, sold out tours, and yes money. also, i'm pretty sure the band has writing credits on everything after 2003. also also, thank you for proving my point.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 08:19:17 PMThis band is fucking lame, and if you guys think they aren't posers what photos are you looking at. This is a soft rock version of the back street boys. Kevin if you think this band brings Nashville "notoriety" outside of the scene you need to wake up man, this band makes our scene look fucking silly.
Posted 07/28/2008 at 08:49:42 PMSince when does money, blow, and bitches mean anything else but Success?
Posted 07/28/2008 at 09:09:18 PMI'm a Kings of Leon fan though. That must be why I'm confused.
Money = success in my book. Even with the dollar tanking in the world market, street cred don't buy shit, kids. Trust me.
Back on point, I'm not crazy about this tune. I didn't like the turn they took on that last record, and this seems like more of the same. Gimme more of that Aha Shake Heartbreak sound. Now that's a ghettofabulous record!
Posted 07/29/2008 at 12:09:54 AMi wish i could have money and blow...and hair like that. if my hair gets over a 3-guard, it turns into this nasty, white-boy afro that, when getting laid is concerned, is hard for even my wit and charm to overcome.
Posted 07/29/2008 at 08:49:26 AM"Money=success in my book"
Posted 07/29/2008 at 08:58:18 AMIs there nothing to be said about artistic integrity? Golly Gee, this blog site really brings out the great philosophical minds of the century. It sucks we live in the backwash slop of the Mtv idea of "success". You guys need to find a box to think outside of. Maybe Walmart is hiring on the exec level? You could figure out easier ways to import things from China where their aren't labor laws and make more money. You should use your talents for what they are good for.
that being said, if you do your art, and a lot of people happen to like it, you're probably going to make some money, and nobody should hold that against anybody. KOL are doing their thing. a whole bunch of people like it. more power to 'em. even if you do your art TO make money, i mean...that's your perogative, right? wait...it's 'PRErogative', isn't it? is it? is it my prerogitive to spell 'perroggative' how i want?
Posted 07/29/2008 at 09:52:57 AMI agree to a certain extent Doyle. However saying "money=success" seems to be a very shallow outlook to hold. I thought this band was just a gimmick put together,I didn't realize people really liked KOL. I suppose I am very out of touch?
Posted 07/29/2008 at 10:41:42 AMi agree with you about the money=success formula, too. yeah dude, especially across the pond, they love 'em some KOL...and fish & chips...and futbol...and tea.
Posted 07/29/2008 at 10:55:31 AM"What a bunch of posers." No shit!! You got that one right.
Posted 07/29/2008 at 12:35:32 PMIs the fat grumpy lesbian on the left IN the band, or is it a roadie or merchlady or something?
Posted 07/29/2008 at 05:50:22 PMChris your cracking me up man!!!
Posted 07/29/2008 at 06:38:51 PMDoyle, do you really think good art makes money? Breck girls make money. I'm sorry to disappoint you. No one will remember you, your gumdrop murals or The Kings of Leon.
Posted 07/30/2008 at 03:41:28 AMdidn't say that, dude. just said i don't hold it against the artist or question their integrity if it happens to. that's all, bro.
Posted 07/30/2008 at 09:22:40 AM"money=success in my book" Joe I gots to tell you your a fucking idiot, why don't you do everyone a favor in keep your wannbe-hipster-big-fat mouth shut o.k. I know you have to kiss everyone's ass but go kiss ass where it actually gets you somewhere, you got that numbnuts?
