Thanks to local blog Indie Ghetto (run by Joe Baine Colvert, who has a local-rock focused WRVU show of the same name, works at Lake Fever Studios and plays in Stories That Live) for tipping us off to the new Superdrag song floating around. Called "Filthy and Afraid," the song was recorded at Lake Fever and is a power-pop return to the band's secular days (musically speaking). It's currently being hosted on Gibson.com. Apparently there's no release date for the new record, but the band is playing Bonnaroo and will be previewing new songs there.

That song is kinda awesome, it's been stuck in my head all afternoon. I can't wait to hear it in it's final, proper form.

that's the sound of strings being ripped off the guitar... and it is glorious

Note that by rough mix, I mean that it's totally not mixed at all.

Thanks for posting this, by the way.

This sounds delicious. I really look forward to the final mix... and the rest of the songs of course.

That's weird... the Mercy Lounge's Men's Room says the same thing...

Sounds strangely like the Smithereens.
Drums are a little sloppy. Not altogether bad things.

Drums are a little sloppy. Is it a demo?
