Thanks to YouTube, you can hear just about any song for free—if it has a video. It's created an unexpected interest in the once-revolutionary medium again, and now MCA TV9 (that's Comcast cable channel 9) is starting to rock videos in its programming, and plenty of 'em local.

"We'd like to provide an alternative after-school television option to the existing trashy reality TV and mind-warping crap that's currently being shown on the other cable channels," says a channel spokesperson, and with a local lineup including videos from The Clutters, Carter Administration, Paul Burch, Avett Brothers, The Features and more, we can't think of a better way to entertain ourselves after school.

Music videos are shown weekdays 4-6pm and 9-11am every Saturday morning.

While I am not a fan of the band's name - their music is quite good and their video is creative and interesting. We're a 24 hr a day art channel - we're here to inspire and cause people to think. The band's name may be an issue - but the content of these videos is not. Look at what's on Mtv, the Disney Channel, and Nickelodeon. We're not encouraging youth to dress and act like tramps. We're not teaching young men to disrespect women. We don't even have commercials on our channel; we only have art. But, at least you read the video rotation - there's something to be said for that.
