Wow. Apparently me and whoever wrote that Caribou review were at different shows. I thought it was one of the best performances--local or touring-- that i've seen in a long time. Definitely ss good as the last monotonix show at springwater, but for different reasons.
Normally I wouldn't call bullshit on someone's personal opinion of a show, but I really think this review misses the mark. I mean EVERYONE who I saw at that show was FLOORED by Caribou. I didn't hear a single person say 'yeah they were kinda cool i guess'.
Bruton will back me up.

but dont be mistaken, that show was badass and objectively its true that very few were not visibly into it at the show. so yes L.F.C., it is odd.
Luke from character, I'm not disagreeing with your assessment of the show any more than I'm agreeing with The Spin's assessment. I wasn't there.
But, let's say you went to see, say, John Mayer, and came out of it thinking, "That was really cheesy and not very good." Now, almost everyone else at the show may have enjoyed themselves thoroughly and thought it was really top-notch. Are you in any way compelled to say, to anyone, that the show was good just because the crowd went wild for it? Of course not, right?

Also, for what it's worth, not everyone in the crowd was floored. I happened to witness people on the deck complaining about how boring they thought Caribou were. They were very obviously there for the Fuck Buttons, though.

different strokes. I'm just saying, as someone who is out at shows 5 nights a week, caribou put on the best performance i've seen in a while.
