The Magic Number: 3 Reasons to Go to the Infinity Cat Party at Local Honey Tonight

1. 50% off all winter clothes. Your calendar might say it's spring time, but you know damn well this spastic Tennessee weather will give you plenty of reasons to wear a new sweater for at least another month.

2. If the prospect of seeing JEFF and Meemaw perform together as Wizardz doesn't tempt you, then perhaps the clamoring noise pop of The Muggabears and off-kilter garage rock of Sisters (both from Brooklyn on their way to SXSW) might.

3. The party starts at 6 with bands starting at 7 and ending at 9, so if you don't want to party afterwards, you could still make it down to Exit/In and catch Peelander-Z faster than you can say "Medium Rare!"

If I attended this event, would I be the only one there over the age of 30?

Aren't those Jeff guys like 14 or something?

casio said:

well. i'll be there, and i'm about a month shy of 30. so, if you're feeling left out and need to talk about reruns of Parker Lewis Can't Lose or something, come find me.

WIZARDZ said:

thank you if you came out last night b/c the weather was so bad! and thanks for coming regardless.

we're all 12

and being molested by parker lewis

forever

we are lucky said:

we are lucky because we were there and it was warm and good and snowy outside. Wizardz!

This is why I don't go to shows anymore.

Jeff Sucks said:

The only people going to see Jeff are nashville scene writers. They'll come back and blog about it for days/weeks/months, until the next Jeff show, and try to convince all to go again.

jimmy said:

I agree Jeff Sucks, but there are also the "punk" kids that think they are good so they can look cool. the thing is, if the drummer wasn't in BYOP then we would have never heard of them.

ya'll just said:

JEALOUS!!!!!

I LIKE JEFF said:

serioulsy, lets not be scared to like JEFF.

even if drunk kids think its cool.

personal vendettas with bands made of real people just end up being weird and playing-with-your-weeping-willow anyway.

if only bands were self enclosed entities that actually represented something to be for or against, i guess talking shit on the internet would be worth it.

and BTW, JEFF's drummer isn't in BYOP

not blogging enough perhaps?

DON'T EAT JEFF said:

hating on jeff is like not liking cherry ice cream. you don't like that kind of ice cream? so what. don't eat it. nobody cares.

why don't you say what you like instead of what you don't like. it would be more interesting.

i like jeff, they are fun to watch live. if its not your taste, then don't eat jeff.

Maybe said:

Maybe if everyone who spent their time complaining about bands they read about in the paper spent their time bringing up or discussing bands they did like on here, the bands they did like would get more attention, and probably get covered in the paper.

What are you putting your energy into? Love goes farther than hate. Love your bands and see if it makes the change you want to see.

Woah. "JEFF sucks" and "jimmy" just blew my mind. Wow. Some people actively dislike JEFF? Twilight zonage. Have either of you even listened to Castle Storm? Fit it into your busy schedule of Iron&Wine and Hannah Montana then come back and deny JEFF's raw genius. dunce.

Question for JEFF SUCKS and Jimmy:
Why do these music journalists consistently go to JEFF shows? hmmm ... think hard now ....

a) they dig hanging out around all those punk kids 'cause they just smell so good (and they're cool!)

b) they keep hoping that JEFF will morph into BYOP before their very eyes !!!

c) uuuhhhhhhh .. ... they actually live in nashville and know what the people want.

d) they know it pisses you off when everyone else is havin' a damn good time.

e) both c and d

jimmy said:

I actually live in nashville and i know that there cant be alot of people that like jeff, or do they? i think it is just another trendy fad that will end like most nashville bands on this site.

??? said:

why dont' all you r-tards quit arguing about a band that doesn't play out that much anyways. I'm a little pissed that battletapes didn't stand up for his boys here, too. Where the 'tapes at??

familiar sideman said:

i guess being brothers BORN into music is just another trendy fad. how many folks here actually caught any shows at guidos? who's old school??? JEFF are whether you realize it or not. don't be quick to assume a younger band means they just decided they wanted to be cool or trendy out of thin air. they've been 'on the scene' for twenty years.... i mean... if you wanna get technical. also, they haven't taken any handouts. also... wizardz rules. so does banana pudding ice cream.

we are lucky said:

that "trendy fad" called JEFF made their first album in 2002, THEN they started BYOP with Jemina and Jonas, then made their second album in 2005, third in 2007. How long do "trendy fads" last?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnBQM4Sxrk0

is that a club full of nashville scene writers? they must have a huge payroll.

Steve H. said:

Well, when you consider that each of us brings a pretty big entourage to any show we attend, the place fills up fast.

karl said:

Wo!!!! Who is "each of us"? Tell us about your "entourage", Steve H.

Darrin said:

I not caught shows at Guido's, I played at Guido's. I'm not sure if that makes me old school or not, but it probably makes me old.

Darrin said:

Dammit, I was hoping I had caught that first message before it went through.

Jed said:

Entourage! That's pretty funny.
And that's Jemina from BYOP in the front row.
She must write for The Scene too!
