i, for one, found this information interesting. i was entertained for all 5 seconds it took to read it, and i thank the scene for posting it.

then again, i don't really get on the internet to look for things to bitch about.

this band sucks. I'm sorry, they just do. Amy Winehouse may be a trainwreck, but I think a year from now people will still be listening to her record. Paramore is more flavor of the month bullshit.

Not being 14, I don't really have anything to say regarding their sound. But I would hope some of you stauch defenders aren't seriously serious. For your own sake.

Calling them a Nashville rock act is a bit of a stretch. Sure, they all live in the area, but that's about where their connection to this music scene ends. I don't remember them ever playing exit/in, mercy, etc... they never really participated in this local music scene. That's why I have a hard time calling them a "Nashville rock act."

They sold out the War Memorial. Or at least I think it was a sell out.

While I can't understand anything that girl says, the songs are catchy as all get out. I ended up watching that live MTV performance of theirs and kind of enjoyed it.
Maybe it was the semi-matching outfits.
Either way, I'm officially on Team Swift.
So I hope they lose.

It's funny how people who have trouble calling a band from Franklin a "Nashville Rock Act" would probably have no trouble claiming bands that are part-time residents (at best) as their own. I'm thinking of somebody like KOL or even Yo La Tengo. I'm sure there are better examples, but my point is that just because you don't like the band doesn't mean they are not a "Nashville act". Hey, at least Paramore don't try to play up the Nashville connection to some cheesy affect (ie KOL). Like them or not, Paramore IS from Nashville...errr Franklin.

It's not that I hate them specifically. My hate is more based around the fact that family connections and image go much farther in Nashville than actual talent does. I've seen it happen too many times and as a result have become quite cynical.

Franklin is closer than Murfreesboro.

I think they deserve a grammy nod,, their songs r hella catchy and hayley is a talented singer and kickass frontwoman

you know what? im am SICK of hearing about this crap. if you are born in a city like nashville, youre bound to have some sort of "connection" as you say. no way around it. my family on both sides have been involved in the nashville music scene for fifty years. yes. fifty years. i am a musician. and have been all my life.
so.
my point is. i have NEVER EVER gained any success or lack thereof because of my family. in fact, i dont go round telling my business for that very reason and it is so unfortunate. i am PROUD of my family history in nashville music and it is a shame i have to go round hiding it, in fear of disrespect from my peers. BULLSHIT i say.
never asked for a favor and never intend to.
any success or lack of success is due to my hard work and devotion to my art for twenty years.

I think Paramore is very cool. My best friend and I think its the best band of all time.Well were actully metal friends but we like Paramore too. PARAMORE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!

You know what people, get over it. I for one think Paramore is a good band. Music is music, no need to bitch about it. But I'm glad Amy won the award anyway. She's also one of my favorite artists.
