Holiday Food Innovations on the Party Circuit

The difference in amateur parties and an A-list party caterer: they pay attention to little details like ease of eating and presentation.
At a brand-name corporate holiday reception in a brand-name space last night, the food was brand-name good, but more than that, it was strategic and I knew you'd want to know about it.
For example, the Thai-ifluenced minced chicken stir-fry in tiny pastry cups. Familiar enough format, unfamiliar flavors. A nice way to depart from the usual party fare, but in a safe way.
And how about this idea: a slab to keep the tomato-basil-mozzarella skewers cool and chillin', not to mention stylin', next to the steaming chafing dishes.
If the photos seem unusually professional, that's because they were shot by an A-list, brand-name photographer. Thanks, PL.
