The Fixe is In

She just birthed a baby, but chef Laura Wilson is up and emailing about specials at Ombi. Maybe its postpartum delirium, but Wilson says Ombi will offer a prix fixe menu until the election, featuring three courses for $25. The menu follows after the jump. (The regular menu will still be available and is changing next week.)

Starters
French onion soup with Gruyère crouton
Buttermilk biscuits and Benton’s country ham with sorghum,
 strawberry preserves 

and whipped butter


Arugula with apples, matchstick potatoes, Maytag & balsamic vinaigrette




Entrées


Braised DW Farms pork tossed with pappardelle, mustard greens, truffle oil and 
Parmesan


Sweet potato, butternut squash and parsnips over potato gnocchi with red wine
 gastrique


Sautéed shrimp and Falls Mill grits with bourbon and grained mustard demi glace





Desserts
White chocolate bananas Foster bread pudding


Crème brûlée


Warm brown-butter cake with roasted-apple buttercream icing
