L'Ete du Vin: Feast Like It's 2003, Tip Like a Magnate

Make dinner out count for good on Oct. 14 with l'Eté du Vin, the cancer-fightin' oenophilic charity. Have supper at Sperry's, making sure to tip heavily honorary maitre d' Mike Haney, and part of your tab plus all the "tips" go to l'Eté's coffers.

With the approach of chilly weather, Sperry's dark-wood-and-red-leather interior is just irresistibly cozy. The drinks are stiff and icy. Steaks are perfect every time. Ours arrived at 148 degrees, like we asked. And the homemade Green Goddess dressing—where else can you find that?

It's next Tuesday—easier to get a table during the week, but don't wait too long. Call 353-0809 for reservations.

Nice thought, but 10%? Way to really stretch out there, Menopause Lounge.

I'll give directly to ACS and take advantage of "Dining Out for Life" for my culinary charity. Germantown Cafe gave 105% of their proceeds. Now THAT'S charity.
