In Russia, Chocolate Craves You

These are: Russian chocolates
Found at: Aleksey Market
WTF: exactly what I said until my Russian sister-in-law showed me the light.
Isn’t there already plenty of American chocolate in America? Some people might say that sums it up well.
How is it different? Russian chocolate is more like European chocolate: far less sweet, dark chocolate is darker, and milk chocolate has more butterfat. And none of it has that weird, fermented, sour taste of Hershey’s or the ashy aftertaste of M&Ms.
What flavors are available? A preponderance of plum, apricot, berries, currants and liqueurs. Sometimes the flavor is pictured on the wrapper, but sometimes not. (For instance, the Kino film-themed chocolate in the center.) Ask the staff, unless you really think you’d enjoy banana or advokaat (eggnog) filling.
How is it priced? $6.95 per pound, a good price for a quality chocolate odyssey.

Advokaat/advocat = eggnog. Thank you.
I saw some intriguing treats at Baraka over the weekend of that flavor with nothing but a picture of a glass of white stuff and had no clue as to what it could be. Now I see the advantage of going to a market where the owners speak the language of everything they sell. But bless their hearts, I sure appreciate all that Baraka peddles.
