Honey Moon Period
Miel, chef Jimmy and Seema Phillips' long-awaited tiny bistro on the outskirt of Sylvan Park, is scheduled to open tonight with a menu that includes escargots and frog legs in garlic-parsley butter, slow-roasted Scottish Salmon, pan-seared red snapper, salad Nicoise of ahi tuna, cheese plate, duck breasts, iron-seared rib eye, roasted eggplant with lentils and ratatouille, penne with chanterelles and asparagus in a dry sherry cream sauce, rabbit confit, heirloom tomatoes, Hudson Valley foie gras. Pastry chef Angela Reynolds is baking bread and delivering a slate of crème brûlée and other desserts.
The intimate dining room and patio with 42 seats are outfitted with art by local painter and Rymer Gallery curator Herb Williams.
Miel is located at 343 53rd Ave. N., in the backyard of Bobbie's Dairy Dip. (Phone: 298-FOOD (3663). Parking is available. Miel serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday.
