Pull up a couple of highchairs—there are babies in the kitchens. Ombi chef Laura Wilson and husband Grant welcomed their first child, Porter Howell (7 lb. 15 oz.), on Thursday morning at Baptist Hospital.

F. Scott's chef Will Uhlhorn was already there with wife Tamara, who delivered their second daughter, Amelia Pearl (7 lb. 13 oz. and pictured above) on Tuesday afternoon.

There's no word yet on whether Ombi and F. Scott's will be introducing kids menus. Peanut butter and pork belly, anyone?

Ironically enough, Fluffernutter and I were just discussing when Laura was due on Wednesday while we were divvying up our CSA shares (AKA the mountain of squash).

Congrats to the families!

Congrats, Laura!!!

That's a good looking kid!!

Chef Crow is expecting another son on January 7th. We're hoping for a December 31st baby, so that for once in our lives we can take a New Years Eve off.

Just imagine the kind of snacks being served at play dates....

If Ombi, 360 or F.Scott's doesn't install a ball pit, stat, the Bites meet-ups are going to migrate to Chik-Fil-A or the Green Hills McDonald's.

True, but it's also very very expensive...

I would enjoy a good peanut butter and pork belly sandwich! Thank you Carrington and everyone for the well wishes! Amelia's middle name is actually Pearl, although I'm sure Laura would love it if we had named her after her. We saw Laura & Grant at the hospital, it is an exciting time for all of us!
Congrats Laura & Grant!

I was about to be really flattered! Between Porter Howell and Amelia Pearl, I'm not sure if we have the makings of a restaurant or the Grand Old Opry!

That's wonderful news! Those'll be the best-fed babies in town.

Carrington said:

Wait, it's not Amelia Laura? Tamara, are you sure you brought home the right baby?

(Amelia Pearl's name has now been updated in the story. Sorry about that. I can't get my own children's names right either.)

gnomey - it would depend on what the mother had been eating and if the baby is being purely milk fed...

mr. pink said:

Yeah, you'll definitely pay more for free range baby.

Mostly because they break your stuff and then end up in the ER with some pretty hefty copays.
